5.13 Create an information intensive environment that includes both print and digital text.
Each morning students finish their breakfast and settle in for the day while watching the morning new program. The school shares any important news for the school and also news outside the school. Each day the school news talks about the weather outside, sports teams that played recently, and many other current events. In one artifact the students are accessing a local grocery store ad to complete a project about money. Whenever possible, we try to not only use free material but also material that exposes students to many types of literature.
