Reading Capstone 

Reading skills are important for all students to master. A student's love for reading is primarily influenced by their ability to read. When a student can read, they have the opportunity to explore many lands and experience many life changing events all without having to leave their home. The reading capstone assignment was aimed at identifying a student's level in reading and to plan and implement differentiated reading instruction that will demonstrate growth. Students from a second grade class at Tropic Isles Elementary were given the STARS test at the beginning of the third quarter. After carefully review of the student's ability in reading, I created and implement language and print rich instruction to improve their reading skills. The students were later evaluated with the same assessment for growth.
